First run of 2014

Today marked the first day of 2014 and we started it off with a bang! We ran the Blastoff 5k in downtown Oklahoma City and I have to say it was pretty darn cold. Running in the cold weather is pretty great though because of 2 reasons..you can always shed clothing as you get hot and you don't feel your legs so you feel like you can run forever!

This was the very first race for my little brother, Josh, and I am so proud of him. He had only begun running a couple months back and he PR'd his time by over 1 1/2 minutes. He had only run a 5k on a treadmill in perfect gym conditions with no inclines or declines. The run today was cold, windy and had many various inclines and declines to test him and he still made it happen! He was a trooper.

Tonight will be the second workout of the day and it will be of the CrossFit variety. I have posted what we will be tackling below. It is a partner WOD (workout of the day) so I will be doing it with my girlfriend and we will be splitting the different parts of the workout. If you have any questions about what any of the movements are below, you can google them or just ask in the comments...
